Bacon bloody Mary

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Thanksgiving is probably one of my most favorite holidays. It’s all about food and getting together with my family. So naturally I’ve got to make a good cocktail. Love to kick the day off with one good stiff drink, and because Thanksgiving tends to be a day of gluttony why not make it bacon bloody Mary!

Here’s what you’ll need
-Bacon
-Titos
-Bloody Mary mix (Powell & Mahoney is my absolute fav)
-Lemmon
-Gherkins, olives, or celery for garnish

My first go around with this recipe was absolutely disgusting! I spent the whole day infusing the bacon in the vodka. When I poured it into the drink the ice made the fat seperate. Gross!

The trick is that you have to take the cooked bacon 2-3 pieces and all the fat from cooking the pound of bacon and let it sit in the vodka overnight. Then freeze the infused vodka. For you novice vodka drinkers vodka doesn’t freeze so the bacon juice rises to the top and solidifies. All you have to do is skim the fat off the top and voilà bacon infused vodka!

Now mix 2-3 ounces of bacon infused vodka
4 oz of Bloody Mary mix
1/2 Lemmon
Garnish whatever you like + bacon!
You can always kick it up a notch by adding a chili powder, cumin, garlic, salt and pepper to the rim

Enjoy!

This will be a great drink for Christmas morning when opening presents. I like to have ideas that I can make ahead of time.
